How Do I Remove Kohler/Sterling Whirlpool Jets?
<?xml:namespace prefix = o />
Although not necessary for regular maintenance of a whirlpool, you may at some point want to change the color of the jet trim in your whirlpool or for another reason need to remove the jets. This can be done from the inside of the whirlpool with the Kohler jet removal tool included with all new jets.

The jet removal tool, shown above, has a hook on each end. The larger hook should wrap around your finger, leaving the smaller hook to go inside the jet. This is used to catch the back edge of the center part of the jet called the “eyeball.” Once you feel the hook catch on the jet, pull on the jet firmly to un-snap it from the trim ring. You may want to use some downward pressure, as shown below, to keep the hook in place as you pull. It can take a few tries to properly hook the eyeball and keep it in place. Once the eyeball and sleeve are removed, the adjustable trim ring will pull off.
